JavaScript:   JavaScript code is what knowledgeable Web designers use to make the Web site work.  With it one can detect what browser, screen size, platform, etc. the user is using and either direct them to a page design for it or alter the existing page to fit the surfers set-up.  You can also do various time and date functions such as the example above,  make objects move across the screen, make objects change when you mouse over them,  and many more things that can be done.   It takes a skillful programmer to be able to write the code so that it works or doesn't crash in different or older browsers.
